      Also, David…I don’t hate the idea of you having a Patreon.

      Sneak peeks, behind the scenes elements…heck, in a few months when my finances level out a bit, I’d dive on that.

        Yeah, well when I get the notion that hours of work will earn me more than chicken scratch. I have a pretty good feel on my analytics, and at this moment I think I might be able to count on maybe $1.00 a month. That’s based on my monthly readership X 1% And that depends on those who want to subscribe to Patreon. Another 1%. So no, not at this time. As I approach retirement, I think it would be great if could rely on CML as a source of income. It’s gonna take time.

Behind the Scenes

For those who don’t know how a 3D graphic image is made, here’s a peek behind the scenes. The less geometry, that is, the fewer objects in the scene that the computer has to calculate into the final image, the faster it is to render the image. This example is from page 9 of chapter 14 (“The Report”)

In this case all I needed was the upper half of Lieutenant Nichols and the building complex in the background. Previous images in the chapter established that the characters are standing on the patio of Sophia’s condo.

Note the position of the camera.
